The Journal of Global Oral Health is an open-access peer-reviewed international journal committed to publishing high-quality articles in the field of the dental profession from across the globe. The journal is owned by the Academy of Dentistry International (ADI), USA and published by the Scientific Scholar. The journal aims to present the most current information in oral health that is relevant to the current practice of dentistry.
It is a peer-reviewed international journal with a double-blind review process. Its frequency of publication is semi-annual, two issues per year. The Journal is published both online and in print.

Journal of Global Oral Health will have covering all sub-specialties of dentistry: Endodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, Dental Public Health, Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Periodontics, and Prosthodontics. The journal publishes a Research article, Systematic Reviews, and Meta-analysis, Policy papers, Opinion corner, Editorial, Guest Editorial, Academy Activities and Letter to Editor. The journal allows free access to its articles.

Audience

Our audience includes Dental Surgeons, Policymakers, Public health professionals, Public Dental Health professionals, Dental Industry personnel and lay public.

Review Process

JGOH has a highly rigorous double-blinded peer-review process that makes sure that manuscripts are scientifically accurate, relevant, novel and important. Authors disclose all conflicts of interest, affiliations and financial disclosures such that the published content is not biased.

In-house submissions that contain the work of any editorial board member, are not allowed to be reviewed by that editorial board member and all decisions regarding this manuscript are made by an independent editor. In addition, these manuscripts are reviewed by two external reviewers. This is also disclosed in the published manuscript under the section of Conflict of Interest.

Editorial Team

The editorial board comprises of a panel of international experts in Global Oral Health from around the globe to provide their expertise and guidance to the Editor-In-Chief in maintaining the clarity of content and focus of the journal’s purpose.

Dr. SM Balaji is an acclaimed Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He has over 28 years of experience performing more than 20,000 surgeries. Dr. S M Balaji is world-renowned for his cleft lip and palate surgeries. He has introduced many innovations into cleft repair surgery. These innovations have become accepted the world over by leading cleft surgeons. Dr. SM Balaji has rehabilitated over 1000 syndromic children with complex surgeries. The seamless adaptation of technology with innovation is the hallmark of his surgeries.

Prof SM Balaji is the Editor-in-Chief of the “Annals of Maxillofacial Surgery.” He is also the Executive Editor of the “Indian Journal of Dental Research.” Wolters Kluwer Lippincott Williams & Wilkins publish both journals. He also has several International and National publications in various journals of repute. “The Textbook on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery” authored by him is the country’s best-seller. It is also the prescribed book for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Dr. SM Balaji is also a decorated biomedical scientist of repute. His research work has won recognition from the Indian Association of Biomedical Scientists. He has been a member of the Indian Council of Medical Research too. He has done groundbreaking research in the field of reconstructive surgery. His work on bone Morphogenetic proteins has won him the Brammaiah Sastri award.

To his credit, he has also received the “BC Roy National award.” This is the highest award of the Medical Council of India. An orator par excellence, he has also delivered various prestigious orations. He has delivered the prestigious Ginwallah Oration. This is an honour given by the Indian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has also delivered the esteemed Dr. R Ahmed Oration of the Indian Dental Association.

Dr. SM Balaji has also won the highest scientific “Prof David Precious Award. The award was for his research work on protein-guided tissue engineering for cleft surgery. This was at the 12th World Cleft and Craniofacial Congress in Leipzig, Germany. The world-renowned Cranio-maxillofacial surgeon, Prof Kenneth Salyer presented this award. This is the highest award of the acclaimed International Cleft Lip and Palate Foundation (ICPF).

Prof S M Balaji has won the coveted “Dr. Ginwallah Rolling Trophy” twice. This trophy belongs to the Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of India. Dr. S M Balaji has also won the ‘Best Paper Award’ twice at their annual conferences. He has won the “Best Paper Award” at World Cleft congresses at Zurich, Halifax, and Goteborg. He also won the “Modus Award of Merit” at the 6th Asian Conference on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Tokyo. His presentation of the ‘Best Innovative Surgical Technique’ won him the award. The award comes with a cash award of 50,000 Yen. He also won the “Gold Medal” for the best paper at the 4th Asian Conference on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Plagiarism Policy

The journal uses plagiarism check software (iThenticate) on the Editor’s and Reviewer’s panel in the manuscript management system which is used to check and control Plagiarism for each article. Any manuscript, that is found to have plagiarism is rejected.

Archival Policy

We use PORTICO for our third-party repository for all articles published with us. All our manuscripts are assigned a DOI number from CROSSREF, and we are members of Crossref https://crossref.org.

Journal of Global Oral Health is an open-access journal, and manuscripts published are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-Non Commercial-Share Alike 4.0 License (CC-BY-NC-SA 4.0), which allows others to remix, transform, and build upon the work non-commercially, as long as appropriate credit is given and the new creations are licensed under the identical terms.

Ahead of Print Policy

Articles published online under the Ahead of Print model are considered published and can be cited and quoted using the DOI as the reference source. JGOH has a policy that changes will not be made after the publication of an article without following accepted procedures for making corrections to the scientific record.
