The 2019 Korean ADI Convocation, held at the Sheraton Seoul Palace Gangnam Hotel in Seoul, Korea, on April 20, 2019, was successful as it was important. It was the third convocation in the Korean ADI Chapter in as many years and reaffirmed the resurgence of the Academy of Dentistry International in Korea. Four outstanding dentists, including the first lady fellow, were inducted into the Academy in an impressive and enjoyable convocation ceremony. The four fellows inducted into the Korean ADI Chapter were Dr. Won Kyung Kim, Dr. Hoon Myoung, Dr. Heekyong Lee, and Dr. Sang-Seon Lee. The newly inducted fellows were evidently very experienced and capable dentists that are highly regarded in their community. It augurs well for the future of the Academy to have such distinguished dentists in the Korean Chapter.

The convocation team comprising Dr. Wing-Kong Yip, ADI Past President and Asia Pacific Regent, and Dr. Chang Young Ahn, Chairman of the Korean Chapter, presided over the impressive and memorable meeting. At that meeting, Dr. Chang Young Ann was also appointed and installed as the Vice Regent of the Asia Pacific Section by Dr. Wing-Kong Yip, the current Regent of the Asia Pacific Section.

In keeping with the Academy’s goal to promote continuing education, the audience was treated to a lecture entitled “Digital Technology Integration in Dentistry” by Professor Jung-Suk Han, Professor and Dean of the Department of Prosthodontics, Seoul National University, School of Dentistry.
