In 2014, I was invited as a Fellow of the Academy by President Dr. Ramón Baez, with whom, in 2019, we began to form an exchange with students from the University of Southern California (USA) and Francisco Marroquín (Guatemala) to work with low-income girls who were abandoned by their parents (IMA group).

Since 2014, we have established with Dr. T. Bob Davis (Past President of ADI), an exchange with students and professors from San Antonio and Houston, Texas (USA) with students and professors led by me from the Faculty of Dentistry of Francisco Marroquín University of Guatemala in San Raymundo, San Juan Sacatepéquez Guatemala, in a rural area 40 miles from the capital.

In this place, a hospital was built, for all kinds of medical and dental treatments, funded by a Christian group.

This exchange is made every year, during the Spring break (a full week) attached photos that were taken in 2019.

In 2020, Dr. T. Bob came with three collaborators to make, as always, all the preparations before the day. But unfortunately it could no longer be carried out due to the onset of the pandemic.

In 2019, Dr. Ronald Fritz came to Guatemala. (Fellow and collaborator of ADI). We had lunch with him and with the Directors of the Faculty of Dentistry, who are also Fellows of the Academy.

The next day, we went to Cerro de Oro on Lake Atitlan approximately 160 km from the capital, where we performed social work in the Community Health Center.

In July 2019, I went with my Rotary group to perform prevention for the girls of Virgen del Camino, Jalapa, led by a religious group, 150 km from the capital.

We also provided food cleaning, oral hygiene supplies, and building materials.

In November 2019, with Grupo Menarini (Pharmaceutical) was formed, “Childhood with The Future” where we did preventive and exodontic treatment in Catacón, Lake Amatitlán, 30 km from the capital.

As you all know, in 2020, no activity could be carried out because of the pandemic.

I send a fraternal greeting to all the Fellows, Regents, and Directors of the International Dental Academy, hoping that everyone will be in good health in these difficult times caused by the pandemic.
